La
Sierra University Women’s Basketball is
pleased to announce the commitments of two
basketball players for the 2010-2011 season.
Evie Purdom and Victoria Lowe, both from
Loma Linda Academy have declared and committed
to La Sierra University on May 18, 2010
.
Evie,
seen on the right of the Head Coach, Eric
Thorson, is a 5’7 guard. Evie averaged 12
points and 3 assist per game for the Loma
Linda Roadrunners. She has maintained a
3.5 GPA while being a 3-year Varsity starter
at LLA. “we are excited to have a player
like Evie in our program” says coach Thorson.
“her work ethic and dedication to the team
concept make her an outstanding student-athlete”.
Evie
will be majoring in Pre-nursing.
Victoria
, seen to left of Coach Thorson, is also
a 5’7 guard/small forward for the Loma Linda
Roadrunners. Victoria averaged 13 points
and nearly 7 rebounds a game for the Christian
league champions. Victoria was a 4-year
varsity player and was the co-captain of
the Roadrunners, along with Evie Purdom.
“ Victoria brings an aspect to our program
that every team needs, she is tough and
determined and won’t be denied” says Coach
Thorson. Victoria has maintained a very
impressive 4.0 GPA as well “we are very
fortunate to have both of these excellent
student-athletes at La Sierra University,
and playing to the Lady Golden Eagles”
Victoria
will be majoring in exercise science.
La
Sierra University and the Women’s basketball
program would like to thank Loma Linda Academy
and the Athletic Director, Gary Eggers for
their assistance in the signing of these
two fine student-athletes.
